After the royal wedding, Carlos (Álvaro Cervantes) and his wife Isabel (Blanca Suárez) have lived the first months of their marriage, of the the few characterized by a true love, in Granada. Moreover Carlos fell in love with the city and in particular with La Alhambra, which now is opening its doors to a shooting for the second time in 25 years.
To shoot this TV series, “Carlos, Rey Emperador”, apart from the professional actors, also a hundred of extras from Granada took part in the filming; adolescents and adults, with roles that go from the poorest citizen to Isabel’s Dame to King Carlos’ nobles that used to live in the royal court. The extras worked with twenty make-up artists and took part in the scenes shot in the Puerta de la Justicia, in the streets of the center of Granada, in the royal wedding and in the Queen’s burial. Hence, also the people of Granada in this series changed their mobile phones with swords and their jeans with attires as the most popular and experienced actors do.
Due to its incredible beauty, the Cuarto Real de Santo Domingo was selected as one of the natural sceneries; it is situated in the barrio of Realejo, just next to the Instituto Mediterráneo Sol.
