The 2021 Christmas lights switch-on in Granada will soon take place! We’ll tell you about it!

Wednesday 1 December 2021

The first of December is the date chosen by the Town Hall for the Christmas lighting. Christmas is approaching and with it the spirit of festivities, family dinners, the race for presents and so on.

After all the security measures last year it seems that this year all the light shows that characterised Christmas before COVID-19 will take place. In fact, the magic of Christmas is beginning to be felt.

The lights will be switched on from 18.30 to 2.30 every day. On New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve, on the other hand, they will stay on until 6.30 in the morning. Of course, everything will be done safely and in compliance with all Covid parameters.

More than two million light bulbs will be illuminated to create a festive atmosphere indoors and outdoors.

Why is Christmas lighting so important and brings so much joy?

According to many studies by different psychologists, Christmas with all its decorations (trees, lights, garlands, ornaments and decorations) would be able to make people happy. In fact, lights have a very strong emotional power as they are attractive for children and adults. In addition, of fundamental importance will be the illuminated fire tree placed this year next to the Fuente de las Batallas.

The workers have been installing the lights for a month now and the whole population is dying to see the final result.

Where are the lights?

The Christmas lights can be seen in Plaza Nueva, Plaza Bib-Rambla, the area around Puerta Real, etc. In fact, the Christmas spirit will be present in all the neighbourhoods.

On the other hand, the Christmas switch-on at the Nevada Shopping Centre took place earlier, this Friday, 19 November.

From iNMSOL we advise you to enjoy the magic of Christmas and not to miss the light shows that will take place from the 1st of December!
