One of the essential places you have to visit during your stay in Granada, whether in winter or summer, at night or day, is undoubtedly the viewpoint of San Nicolás.

Going up to this magnificent viewpoint is not so easy, because it is located in one of the highest points of the Albaicín, the old Muslim quarter made by narrow streets. However, all efforts are rewarded by the enchanting view that this site offers on the Alhambra and the Generalife, with the city at their feet and Sierra Nevada, almost always crowned with snow, to their backs.

So called because of the presence of the Church of San Nicolás (built in 1525 on a mosque and now closed pending a restoration), located in the square that bears the same name, it is the best-known and most frequented lookout in the city for the charm that it transmits not only thanks to its sight, but also thanks to the atmosphere created by gypsy flamenco artists that usually accompany the visits of the tourists with traditional songs and dances.

In short, it can be considered one of the main attractions, because nobody leaves the city without taking a photo in this charming place.

There are different ways to get to the Mirador de San Nicolás. The simplest one is to go up Calle Caldererías, while the fastest is to go up from Plaza Nueva. By the way, if you prefer to go more comfortable, you can always take bus C1 or C2 in Plaza Nueva.
