The 16th of January there was the inauguration of Jorge Ribalta’s photographic exhibition ‘Monumento máuina’, he is a photographer who wants to make a reinterpretation of our history and of numerous myths and monuments’ construction through his camera.
The vision of the photographed objects breaks up with the precedent normality: photographing the monuments the artist wants to rebuild the meaning that the politics gave to those elements to create a national identity. For this reason, the photographer tried to give back to each person his differences and heterogeneity that were eliminated by the governing authorities through the transcentalisation of the monuments, that unified under a single image all the people.
The exhibition is hosted by the José Guerrero Center until the 5th of April; visits are available from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30a.m. to 2:00p.m. and from 4:30p.m. to 9:00p.m. and on Sunday and on holidays from 10:30a.m. to 2p.m.. Entrance is free.
