The second edition of the Andalusian Lyrics Elio Antonio de Nebrija, awarded by the Writers’ Association (ECA) Section of Andalusia, has been given to the Granadian writer Rafael Guillén for his outstanding and multifaceted work in the field of letters, winning the prize for poetry.
The award, with the sponsorship of Unicaja, will take effect during the month of April in Grenada. In this sense, says in a note the ACE, the writer awarded for the first edition was Manuel Alcántara Malaga.
On the other hand, notes that the current ACE Board of Governors of Andalusia in 2009 decided to establish a prize in Andalusia to come to recognize the trend and the performance of almost a lifetime of dedication to the fine art of letters. Thus arose the Andalusian Literature Award, to highlight the general work of an author born in the community or residing in it, and that his career as a writer of exceptional, was made creditor for the recognition of Andalusian writers.
Candidates may be nominated by the members of ACE-Andalusia, royal academies, cultural centers, associations of writers, literary critics associations, publishers or any public or private entities related to points, with the decision of the Board Government of the ACE-Andalusia.
The award has no monetary prize by delivery to the recipient, in recognition of the ACE-Andalucía Medal and an honorary title.
Rafael Guillén has dedicated his life to literary activity highlighting the field of fiction, essays, and especially in poetry. Generation belongs to 50, along with other writers such as Elena Martín Vivaldi Granada and Antonio Carvajal, with whom he begins to promote the establishment of the Academy of Letters of Granada, which ultimately created by the Junta de Andalucía in 2001.
