IMSOL hosts a wide range of groups of students from all over the world every year. This is about a study-holiday program where for a week (or more) students during the morning attend classes at IMSOL and for the rest of the day they are free to visit Granada and all that places linked to it. In this way students have the possibility to improve their Spanish and at the same time to totally dive into the Spanish culture. At the end of the day, every student has to go back to the family who hosts him during the study- holiday.
Between the 23rd and the 30th of September, IMSOL have had the pleasure to receive a group of students from Norway.
As already planned, as soon as students arrived they have met their families and – in order to know each other – they have spent the evening together.
On Sunday the roup has taken part to its first trip to Costa Tropical – a lovely province situated in the South of Granada.
Here students have had the possibility to admire the wonderful sightseeing which characterizes the Costa Tropical surrounded by beaches, cliffs and bays.
On Monday, the group – with an official guide- has visited the Albaicín zone and Sacromonte – one of the most typical areas which characterises the city of Granada as unique.
The program for Tuesday included a trip to Alhambra and its Generalife – monuments which during the years have become the symbol of Granada. It is about an enormous and luxurious mansion where, in ancient time, Arabic Royals used to live during the occupation periods in the area.
On Wednesday evening students have taken part to a different activity that perfectly represents the Spanish culture: we are talking about the flamenco show.
On Thursday they have visited the Ruta de Grafitis. Nowadays Granada is not famous only for its monuments and history, but also for a new attraction: “urban arts”, which means high quality graffiti. It is interesting to notice that if the City Hall is trying to fight against this practice, at the same time on Internet Granada is considered one of the most interesting cities if you want to see great graffiti.
To conclude, on Friday morning students have greeted the teachers of IMSOL and they have had free time during the afternoon in order to walk for the last one time on the street of Granada and to do shopping.
The study- holiday is considered a perfect method which can integrate the study, the pleasure and the discovery of a foreign city, for this reason IMSOL always promotes this kind of experience.
If you are a teacher and you want bring your students to Granada, but you do not where to begin… Talk to IMSOL!!
