Palacio Condes de Gabia is a building situated in the district of San Matías, and it has been renovated twice, the first time in 1984 and the second one, more recent, in 2007. In the October of 2010 the palace was opened to the public and since that moment it has been hosting numerous exhibitions and cultural events with the purpose of supporting the artistic and literary creation of artists from Granada and recovering preexistent works. To realize these aims the citizens have free entrance to the most of the activities proposed by the staff of the palace and they can also attend the workshops, the library, the exhibition halls, the conference hall and all the documentation services offered by the province.
Until Sunday the 8th of March it will be possibleto visit the showing exhibited inside the palace; a collection of works that, according to the artist Santiago Torres López’s will, must be seen thinking of the idea of the mental or physical travel made with different moods. From Santiago Torres López’s explanation is also taken the title of the showing: Hymns and laments. The ticket is free and the timetables to visit the palace are: on Friday from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.; on Saturday from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. and from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.; and on Sunday from 11:00a.m.to 2:00p.m..
