The 43rd Granada Book Fair in 2025: Books, Culture, and Spanish in the Streets of the City
From May 9 to 18, 2025, Granada transforms into a literary paradise with the celebration of the 43rd Granada Book Fair, one of the most important cultural events in Granada. For nine days, iconic squares in the historic city center—such as Fuente de las Batallas, Fuente de las Granadas, and Carrera de la Virgen—fill with books, readers, writers, and cultural activities for all ages.

A meeting point for Spanish language lovers
This fair is an excellent opportunity for our Spanish students to experience the language in an authentic way, surrounded by Spanish-speaking authors, talks, book signings, and cultural performances. They’ll also be able to discover local and independent publishers—perfect for finding reading material suited to their level of Spanish.
Highlights of the 43rd Granada Book Fair
This year, the program includes over 300 activities taking place throughout the city. Here are just a few highlights:
- A tribute to Federico García Lorca, featuring dramatic readings and concerts inspired by his work.
- Creative writing, illustration, and poetry workshops for children and adults.
- Talks and roundtable discussions on women in literature, with authors from Spain and Latin America.
- Daily book signings, with appearances by both local and national authors.
