Granada at Christmas is spectacular! The city offers countless attractions during December.
Nestled in Andalusia, it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and students of iNMSOL are lucky to enjoy it daily. Beyond its usual cultural and leisure options, Granada at Christmas has a magical touch.
Christmas Lights 2024
This year, Granada at Christmas shines brighter than ever. Streets like Reyes Católicos and Plaza del Carmen display luminous arches combining traditional and sustainable LED designs.
- Light and Sound Show: Three daily performances at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m., blending festive music (En Navidad by Rosana, Adorarle by Café Quijano) and dazzling lights.
Giant Christmas trees, light curtains, and glowing figures decorate the city, with the Alhambra softly illuminated for a perfect contrast.
Nativity Scene Competition
The Nativity Scene (Belén), a traditional depiction of Jesus’ birth, is a cherished part of Granada’s Christmas. Key locations to visit include:
- Municipal Nativity Scene in the City Hall courtyard.
- Parish of San Justo y Pastor, featuring a Playmobil Nativity Scene.
- San Pedro and San Pablo Church, showcasing a life-sized Nativity.
Most are open until January 6th with specific visiting hours. More info here.
