Our students didn’t miss the visit of H.M. the King of Spain to Granada!
Last Friday, May 30th, 2025, King Felipe VI visited Granada. He came to our city to carry out institutional, religious, and military engagements. And of course, iNMSOL didn’t miss it!
Renewal as Honorary Elder Brother
His Majesty visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Anguish, the patron saint of Granada, where he renewed his title as Honorary Elder Brother of the Brotherhood of Anguish. This gesture reaffirms the historical bond between the Crown and the city’s religious traditions.
Meeting of the Royal Cavalry Orders
Later, the King presided over the annual meeting of the five Royal Cavalry Orders at the Royal Monastery of San Jerónimo. During the event, he presented the Hernán Pérez del Pulgar Award, highlighting the importance of these institutions in Spain’s history and culture.
Support for the Brotherhood of the Last Supper
As part of his visit, Felipe VI accepted the honorary presidency of the Centennial of the Brotherhood of the Last Supper and Holy Mary of Victory, one of the most representative brotherhoods of Granada’s Holy Week. This institutional support underlines the monarch’s commitment to the country’s cultural and religious traditions.
Meeting with the Public
The King also spent time with the citizens, greeting many Granadans who gathered to see him. His presence was warmly received, reflecting the public’s affection for the monarchy.
King Felipe VI’s visit strengthened the ties between the Crown and the city. Our monarch showed his support for Granada’s cultural, religious, and military traditions. We will always remember it!
