March was a full month for our school iNMSOL, as we welcomed another group of students from Norway. The students came from Asker and stayed in Granada for a week, in order to taste the different language, culture and of course food of Spain!
Along with the courses that they had every morning, iNMSOL gave them the opportunity to enjoy other activities too during the afternoons.
Given that Granada offers you a great variety of things to do and enjoy, it´s up to you to take advantage as many as you can.
Trip to the Alpujarras
That´s why we didn´t lose any time and we went with our group of students to the Alpujarras villages their first day in Granada. Situated in the mountains of Sierra Nevada the villages of the Alpujarras offer you a clear image of the traditional white houses with the narrow streets.
Walk to Albaicin and Sacromonte
The next day, a walk through the streets of Albaicin and Sacromonte seems necessary when visiting Granada. The beauty of these places is remarkable and enchants every time all the students who come here with us.
The fact that there is a small village so close to the city centre embracing a different culture and way of life, makes Granada unique. The Albaicin was the Muslim neighbourhood in the city and the river Darro separates it from the Alhambra.
On the other hand, Sacromonte, located a bit further from the centre, was the place where the gipsies lived. The caves of Sacromonte are one of the most remarkable sights in Granada, giving the city a multicultural character.
Visit to the Alhambra and the Generalife
Of course we couldn´t leave our students leave Granada without seeing the landmark of the city, the Alhambra palace and the gardens of Generalife. The Moorish palace is one of the most famous monuments in Europe and for many the diamond of Andalucía.
Nobody leaves untouched of the Arabic influence that exists everywhere in Andalusia. A visit in the Alhambra and Generalife, that takes you about 4 hours to complete, immerses you in the past, giving you an unforgettable experience.
Moreover, the gardens of Generalife are offering you a magical view like paradise, which you will not want to leave behind.
Ceramic workshop
Besides the activities outdoors, we would like to offer our students some more creative activities. That is why we had a ceramic workshop, giving the students the opportunity to create something theirs and typical from Andalusia.
We hope that next year happen again, we’ll be happy to welcome you!
