The lighting of the luminaries this Friday will officially kick off Christmas in Granada. In fact, more than 2 million LED lights will illuminate the streets of the city center and neighborhoods from 6 p.m. on Friday, December 1 until January 7.
We at iNMSOL want to give you some information about this year’s Christmas organization.
“Vives la Navidad, vives Granada”
The municipality has just inaugurated the “Vivas la Navidad, Vivas Granada” campaign, so there will be plenty of events during this magical time of year. It consists of almost 80 activities of all kinds. These include workshops, concerts, Christmas markets and are aimed at all kinds of audiences. It is worth mentioning the traditional night costume parade scheduled for Dec. 15 and the light and sound show in the Plaza del Carmen on opening day.
Prominent among this year’s novelties is the app, named after the campaign, created by the municipality to have full access to the entire program of activities.
Another novelty of this Granada Christmas will be the Zambomba Flamenca, which this year will be held in the Patio del Ayuntamiento on December 15.
A procession has also been organized for the day of the arrival of the Three Kings that will go from the Church of San Pedro to the consistorial building.
Ice attractions and the Ferris wheel
It will be a Christmas full of events and activities for the city. They will be organized in different places with the aim of including all the places in Granada in this celebration.
For the little ones there will be many attractions such as the togaban, rides, tightrope, an adventure park and an ice skating rink.
This year Granada will also have a big Ferris wheel as a Christmas attraction, so Granadinos and tourists alike will be able to enjoy a unique view from more than 50 meters above the ground.
