Already on sale are tickets to see the musical “Mamma Mia“, which will be at Palacio de Congresos in Granada from April 28 to May 1 2011. Since its premiere in Madrid in 2004, more than two million spectators have enjoyed the mix of drama, music, song and humor of the show, based on the songs of Swedish group Abba. Mamma Mia has become a global phenomenon, the film version of the musical has been number one in over twelve countries and it’s the musical that has earned more money in the history of cinema. Inspired by the magic of Abba’s timeless songs, the wonderful fairy tale about family and friends of the writer Catherine Johnson, takes on a Greek island paradise. The night before her wedding, a daughter begins quest to discover the identity of her father. It brings together three men who belong to the past of her mother, who visited the island 20 years ago.
With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, “Mamma Mia!”has been written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. It has also been choreographed by Anthony Van Laast, while the scenery has been carried out by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.
