“It’s difficult to define and although it comes close to the terror genre — something that appeals to me that I’ve never done — I won’t respect any of its rules. It’s the harshest film I’ve ever written and Banderas’ character is brutal.” ( “El País”)
The most awaited reunion of Spanish cinema, that of the Pedro Almodóvar with his fetish actor Antonio Banderas, which took place 21 years from Legàmi (Atami – 1990) for the new film “La piel que Habito” which begins shooting in summer Malaga.A shock and horror without screaming or without Penelope Cruz, announces the filmmaker who has spoken widely of his new works in an interview with El Pais.
“It is difficult to define and – said the director – and even if it is close to the horror genre, something that excited me because I’ve never touched.” And so we read that Banderas will play a brutal man, the incarnation of Power lived without hesitation. A terrible being a “true psychopath, and Antonio, with its 50 years, is perfect for this year so different from anything I’ve done so far.” The screenplay is based on the novel Thierry Jonquet “Tarantula” and recounts the vengeance of a plastic surgeon at the man who raped his daughter. It ‘been a long and hard to put together, Almodovar has rewritten the script nine times, but “it was a story that I could not leave.”
Curiosity, Almodovar films and cast would announce next week Cannes, but Banderas preceded him “unbuttoning” with a Russian newspaper. The shooting will last 10 weeks, 60% of the film will be produced in the studio, the rest “in two important places not urban”.
