The mirador of San Miguel Alto: an unmissable sunset
Do you want to visit Granada and don’t know which are the best places to go?
Well, we’ll help you!
Location
Situated in front of the Ermita of San Miguel Alto, you will find the renowned Mirador de San Miguel Alto. It is the highest of Granada’s views. From it you have a wide panoramic view of the city and the Vega, the Albaicín and its walls, the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada.
As it is very high up, the panorama is reached after a long walk, but we assure you that it is well worth the effort.
Many people visit the view to see the spectacle of the sunset. It is less well known and therefore less touristy than the Mirador de San Nicolás, but it has the same view of the Alhambra and the colours are almost the same.
Moreover, once you are up there, you can’t miss the Ermita de San Miguel Alto church which is located in the square.
From this panorama it is possible to relax, contemplate the city and see the Alhambra illuminated once the sun goes down. It’s a different perspective of the city, and you’re sure to love it.
You might also be lucky enough to see a real flamenco show.
How can you reach the viewpoint of San Miguel Alto?
If you like walking and getting lost in the mythical neighbourhoods that the city has to offer, we recommend you to reach the view on foot as you will pass through very characteristic areas of Granada.
However, you can also reach the view by bus. The N9 bus line will take you directly from El Triunfo to the Mirador.
To sum up, you can’t miss this view and take some pictures during your stay in Granada.
From iNMSOL we recommend you to visit this place and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world!
