Last week we hosted two groups of students from Austria at iNMSOL. The 32 teenagers, aged between 16 and 17, spent a week with us in order to learn Spanish and to know the city and our region.

We have just spent a very pleasant week with 2 groups of Austrian teenagers, who came to Granada for a language stay with their institute. During the mornings they had Spanish lessons, of course distributed among different smaller groups, in order to improve their grammatical, lexical and communicative knowledge of Spanish.
In the afternoons we organized a program of activities in collaboration with the Austrian teachers who accompanied the students.
On Monday we went with them to the center of Granada to show them the city and the most emblematic places of the center, such as the Cathedral, the Plaza de la Trinidad or Puerta Real. In addition, that day there was a guided visit to the Albaicín and the Sacromonte. The students were able to get to know the Arab quarter of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, walking through the narrow streets between the white houses and enjoying the wonderful views of the city and the Alhambra offered in many places in this charming neighborhood of Granada, which makes our city a unique place in the world. The following day they took a guided tour of Realejo, the old Jewish quarter of Granada with “Graffiti Route” included: accompanied by one of our teachers, they went to explore and discover the Realejo in quest of the graffiti of the artist “Niño de Las Pinturas “, known throughout Granada for his extraordinary drawings.

On Wednesday there was something very special, a total immersion in the deepest Andalusian culture: a flamenco class accompanied by a music workshop. The rest of the day the students had a free afternoon and were able to explore the city on their own and enjoy the particular atmosphere of Granada, a small but international city at the same time, a modern city full of history, a multicultural city with deep Andalusian culture , a city of mountains and sea, a city of contrasts and a unique charm in this world.
