Sweet muffins: magdalenas

Preparation Method

This is the basic recipe for spanish muffins: magdalenas. You can make sweet muffins anytime. Enjoy!

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Measure a quarter cup of sugar and place it in a bowl.
  3. Beat the eggs. Add them to the rest of sugar. Mix until a light mixture.
  4. Melt the butter over medium heat. Add the melted butter to egg and sugar mixture, while stirring. Mix the mixture.
  5. Add the milk and lemon peel. Mix again.
  6. Put the flour in a bowl and add the yeast.
  7. Add flour mixture to the egg mixture slowly, stirring. Mix well until a dense mass.
  8. Place paper cups in a baking tray. Add the mixture to the molds, filling halfway.
  9. Sprinkle some sugar over all the muffins.
  10. Place the tray in the oven for 18-20 minutes, until the muffins are golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let them cool.
  12. Serve.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 110 gr. of unsalted butter
  • 1⅔ cup of white flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
