American students in Granada at Christmas with iNMSOL

It is becoming a tradition that iNMSOL receives a group of American students in Granada at Christmas, and we did it this 2017. We have met some very dynamic boys and girls who have made us spend unforgettable days. Do you want to know about their experience? We tell you about it below.

Their first visit to Spain and Granada

We are talking about a group of American university students, aged between 19 and 23 years old, coming from several American universities (Berkeley, South Carolina, Houston, Winona, etc.), who decided to spend their Christmas holidays in the wonderful city of the Alhambra. .. and they have loved it!

It was the first time they visited Spain and they said that they did the right choice.

Program of activities organized

They have organized their trip to Granada through a special program in collaboration with their sending universities, which provides accommodation in Spanish host families, Spanish lessons and a large program leisure activities.

In addition, iNMSOL organized extracurricular activities, in which there has been a high participation: culture workshops, guided walks around the city, and of course a guided tour to the Alhambra y El Generalife:

Tailor-made Spanish courses

Their levels of Spanish were diverse: some higher than others, but for each of them iNMSOL has managed to adapt the Spanish course to their specific needs and backgrounds. All have had tailor-made Spanish courses, either in general Spanish or for specific purposes (Culture, Tourism, Health, etc.). And all agree on one thing: they have learned a lot during their stay.

In addition to the teaching of Spanish, all courses have revolved around the Spanish and Andalusian culture. The Christmas season is a very special time, full of singularities (the Portales de Belén, the Day of the Innocents, the New Year’s Eve, etc.) of which they have been participants during their lessons. We especially remember the session of Flamenco Carols, polvorones and anís that the students could enjoy thanks to the fabulous help of our ELE teachers in training:

It has been an unforgettable experience, a group of great boys and girls and very emotional Christmas, and that’s why the last Friday’s farewell was very sad…

But we are sure that it will not be the last time we see each other … iNMSOL and Granada await for you!
